Richard Place Dobson and Alexandra Durrant join inspiring HeART to Heart hospice trail

We are delighted to join St Catherine’s Hospice’s exciting HeART to Heart art trail and have amalgamated with Alexandra Durrant to sponsor a heart together.

HeART to Heart is a brand new, fun, free, and engaging art trail that is taking place from 4th July for 10 weeks across West Sussex and East Surrey. This exciting new event will give the local community the chance to follow a trail of hearts across the areas where St Catherine’s care for people, with each heart individually and uniquely designed by a local artist.

We have chosen a design titled Abstract Love which has been designed by artist Alison Saunders. Coinciding with the art therapies offered to patients at the hospice, Alison’s own esign was a result of the calming and meditative release that is produced through doodling in the evenings after the busy and chaotic nature of everyday life.

The bold and vibrant nature of her design provides a release from everyday life which pushes the boundaries of acceptability by producing art that is beautiful in its individuality. Her design excited joint sponsors to celebrate our new partnership as the two businesses start to amalgamate.

Darren Harding, Director at RPD, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring a heart in the trail, and can’t wait to see the hearts in all their glory out and about across Sussex and Surrey. It’s going to be amazing! We’re pleased to be working with Alexandra Durrant and sponsoring our heart together.

“Please come down and follow the trail this summer – it’s great for the whole family, anyone with a passion for arts and crafts and everyone in our community who wants to support St Catherine’s. We’ll see you there!”

Alexandra Durrant, said: “We are really excited to be working with Richard Place Dobson in sponsoring a heart in the trail. For us it is a great way to support St Catherine’s Hospice and I look forward to seeing our heart in the locality.  Please come and follow the trail and find our heart so the charity can benefit from an additional donation.”

You can hunt for each heart via the map on the dedicated ‘HeART to Heart’ app and enter the code on our heart to unlock it. You can also pick up a printed map from County Mall, Swan Walk, Chequer Mead theatre, and at libraries.

We have pledged to donate to St Catherine’s Hospice based on the number of times our heart is unlocked. Once the heart has been unlocked 100 times, we’ll donate £100 to the charity, which provides end of life care and support to terminally ill people and their families across Crawley, Horsham, East Surrey, and Mid Sussex. The more the heart is unlocked, the more we’ll donate - £150 donated when the heart is unlocked 150 times, £200 for 200 unlocks, etc. so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the heart, and all the other fantastic hearts on the trail.
