Career rundown

I am from Poland and studied Management and Marketing at the Technical University in Rzeszow. After passing my exams and receiving my masters degree I was not sure what I wanted to do in my life so I decided to change my path. I completed a 4 year Ph.D. course in Political Science at Maria Sklodowska-Curie University in Lublin but again being a lecturer at university was not my cup of tea. Long story short, in 2010 I came to Crawley with my future husband and started to work for Whitbread – Premier Inn. I worked in all departments before becoming an Administrator for 4 hotels including the biggest one with 702 bedrooms at LGW North Terminal. In the meantime, I completed a few courses and discovered that payroll is something I would like to do full time. I have since completed another course and got my qualifications in 2018. I joined RPD in July 2019.

Achievements within your professional life you are particularly proud of?

Passing my exams and become Ph.D. in political science. Passing my course and become Payroll Technician.

What would you be if you weren’t an accountant?

I would probably be a Crime Scene Investigator or a prosecutor. I was in my 3rd year of economics study when I discovered that something else is more interesting, but it was too late to change the path so I finished my Master’s degree in Management and Marketing.

Your greatest achievement?

I managed to publish my Ph.D. dissertation as a book, thanks to the polish publisher Madox in Torun.

Your favourite holiday destination?

Snowdonia National Park

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like history and like to read books, especially about WWII and communism in Poland.
