Career rundown

In 2017 I graduated from University and started working as an ACA trainee at a top 20 accountancy firm. I worked there for just over a year and then joined RPD as a Trainee Business Advisor in 2018. I have now progressed to a Senior Business Advisor.

Achievements within your professional life you are particularly proud of?

Obtaining my part qualified ACA status. I’m hoping to become fully qualified soon.

What would you be if you weren’t an accountant?

I would’ve probably gone down the performing arts route and been an actor/dancer.

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

Solving the challenges that comes with each client and knowing that I’ve helped their business in some small way.

Describe yourself in four words:

Enthusiastic, determined, conscientious and thoughtful.

Your greatest achievement?

Obtaining my degree in Accounting with Finance, in particular obtaining the highest scoring dissertation on the course in the year.

Your favourite football team?

Brighton and Hove Albion (Hereditary supporter)

One thing that you learned at school that has helped you in your professional life?

Failure is a part of success – don’t give up so easily.

What did you want to be “when you grew up”?

I wanted to be a dancer, I even studied this at college but decided to go down the accountancy route.

Your favourite comedian?

Too many favourites to choose just one – Ali Wong, James Acaster, Hugh Dennis (Just to name a few).

What makes you laugh?

Usually an embarrassing event at someone else’s expense. (Wicked – I know!)

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy being active – I am a member of a CrossFit gym and get involved with my local Parkrun. I also like to hang out and socialise with friends.

If you could have witnessed a significant event in history, what would it be?

VE Day – To see all the celebrations would be truly amazing.
